Permissions List

This topic covers the full list of permissions that can be assigned in OPEN DISCOVERY. Permissions are assigned at the group level and filter down to the users within the group. The permissions outlined in the following tables are all of the permissions available to be configured. The table lists the following:

Modify the grid display	The user will be able to right click on the field headers in the Review Grid and display the Grid Display Options dialog where the user can choose which fields will be viewable in the Review Grid
Manage cases	Allow User to view/edit cases in the Case Management module.
Modify relationships	The user will have access to Relationships in the Case Administration Expander. The user will be able to create new and edit/delete existing Relationships

View batch review status	The user will have access to Batch Review Status in the Case Details Expander and can see progress on all batches for a case, for a review pass, or an individual user.
Lock tag updates	The user will have the ability to update Locked tag groups.
Manage persistent highlighting	The user will have access to the Persistent Highlighting tab on the Case Settings page in Review. The user will be able to create new and edit/delete existing Persistent Highlights
Manage pick lists	The user will have access to the Pick Lists tab on the Case Settings page in Review. The user will be able to create new and edit/delete existing Pick Lists
Manage coding forms	The user will have access to the Coding Forms tab on the Case Settings page in Review. The user will be able to create new and edit/delete existing coding forms
Manage review passes	The user will have access to Review Pass Management in Review. The user will be able to create new and edit/delete existing Review Passes
Manage Analytics	The user will have access to the Analytics tab in Review. The user will be able to create new and delete existing Cluster Sets
Review
View the native viewer	The user will have access to the Web Viewer Tab in the Document Details window
View the image viewer	The user will have access to the Image Viewer Tab in the Document Details window
View the extracted text viewer	The user will have access to the Extracted Text Tab in the Document Details window
Print documents	The user will be able to print the file from the Web Viewer in the Document Details window
Launch native files	The user will be able download and open the selected file in its native application if installed on the user's workstation. The native can be opened by clicking on the icons in the Documents Review Table or in the Document Details Native Viewer
Manage tags	The user will have access to the Tag Palette in the Case Administration Expander. The user will be able to edit and add new tags and tag groups
Add new picklist items	The user will be able to add items to a pick list in the Edit Record window
Run OPEN DISCOVERY imaging jobs	The user will be able to send a batch of documents for imaging utilizing OPEN DISCOVERY Job Manager agents.
OCR documents	The user will be able to OCR documents from the Results grid.
Create QC Batch	The user will be able to create QC batches in Review.
Production
View the production viewer	The user will have access to the Production Tab in the Document Details window
Create images on the fly	The user will be able to create an image of the file selected. The image will be created based on the Native Viewer. The user must have rights to the Native Viewer in order create tiff on the fly
Delete images	The user will be able to delete images from a document or range of documents within Eclipse Admin
Modify/delete other users' redactions	Depending on the redactions checkbox option, the user will be able to either - edit redactions created by others - edit/delete redactions created by others
Export case data	Deprecated
Manage production sets	Export Sets permission is required in order to view existing Production Sets. If Export Sets permission is enabled, then the user can see all export sets.
Manage production shields	The user will have access to Production Shield Option in Case Administration
Manage redaction categories	The user will have access to Redaction Categories in the Case Administration Expander. The user will be able to create new and edit/delete existing Redaction Categories
Manage export sets	The user will have access to Export Sets in Case Administration. If Production Sets permission is not enabled, then the user can only see non-production export sets. The user can still create an export or production set (even though Production Sets is not enabled)
Search and Culling
Print images	The user will be able to batch print a subset of document images
Mass edit fields	The user will be able to mass edit fields in OPEN DISCOVERY Review. Mass action field edits will override field security. This is a case admin-level permission and should not be assigned to normal review users who are unable to edit certain fields.
Edit tags	The user will be able to mass edit tags in OPEN DISCOVERY Review.
Quick search	The user will have access to Quick Search. Quick Search is only available when in Expanders Documents
Manage indexes	The user will have access to Index Management in the Case Administration Expander. The user will be able to edit the dtSearch Index settings and execute a Full Build and Incremental Build on the dtSearch Index
Mass export	The user will be able to export the table view to excel or comma delimited file (csv)
Manage keyword lists	The user will have access to Keyword Management in the Case Administration Expander. The user will be able to create, edit and delete Keyword Lists. The user will also be able to schedule a Keyword List job
Setup TAR projects	The user will have access to TAR Project Setup in the Case Administration Expander. The user will be able to create, edit and delete TAR Projects
View the Timeline	The user will have access to the Timeline window. The user will be able to filter documents based on DOCUMENTDATE ranges. The Timeline is only available in the Expanders Documents or Expanders Search
Documents
None	The user will not be able to see the review grid or record view.
View	The user will be able to see the review grid, but will not be able to edit field values in the record view
Edit	The user will be able to see the review grid and be able to edit field values in the record view and edit tags in the Tag window when in Edit Mode
Transcripts
View	The user will be able to view transcripts
Tags
None	The user will not be able to see the Document Tags in the Tags window
View	The user will be able to see the Document Tags in the Tags window.
Edit	The user will be able to modify the Tag Display in the Tags window
Create	The user will be able to modify the Tag Display and add Tags and Tag Groups from the Tags window
Annotations
None	Annotations will be disabled in the Document Details Image Viewer
View	The user will be able to view annotation in the Document Details Image Viewer
Edit	The user will be able to edit annotations in the Document Details Image Viewer. The annotations button in the Image Viewer will be accessible. If a user only has Edit permissions, they only have rights to edit their own annotations. Enabling the Annotations Modify/Delete Other Users permission will allow the user to edit annotations created from others
Create	The user will be able to create and edit annotations in the Document Details Image Viewer. The annotations button in the Image Viewer will be accessible. Enabling the Annotations Modify/Delete Other Users permission will allow the user to edit annotations created from others
Delete	The user will be able to create, edit and delete annotations in the Document Details Image Viewer. Enabling the Annotations Modify/Delete Other Users permission will allow the user to edit and delete annotations created from others
Trial Prep
Annotations modify/delete other users	Depending on the annotations permissions, the user will be able to either - edit annotations created by others - edit/delete annotations created by others
Transcript Viewer	The user will have access to the Transcript Viewer Tab in Document Details window
Redactions
Disabled	The user will not be able to view, edit, create, or delete redactions in Document Details Image Viewer.
View	The user will be able to view redactions in the Document Details Image Viewer
Edit	The user will be able to edit redactions in the Document Details Image Viewer. The redaction button in the Image Viewer will be accessible. If a user only has Edit permissions, they only have rights to edit their own redactions. Enabling the Modify/delete other users' redactions permission will allow the user to edit redactions created from others
Create	The user will be able to create and edit redactions in the Document Details Image Viewer. The redaction button in the Image Viewer will be accessible. Enabling the Modify/delete other users' redactions permission will allow the user to edit redactions created from others
Delete	The user will be able to create, edit and delete redactions in the Document Details Image Viewer. Enabling the Modify/delete other users' redactions permission will allow the user to edit and delete redactions created from others

Can pause, resume, and cancel jobs	The user will be able to pause, resume, and cancel any jobs to which they have access in the Job Manager.
Job Manager Access Level
Can View User-Specific	The user will be able to access the Job Manager, but can view only the jobs they created.
Can View User-Specific, Case-Specific	The user will be able to view all jobs that they created, as well as all jobs associated to cases to which they have been assigned.
Can View User-Specific, Case-Specific, View All	The user will be able to view all jobs in the Job Manager.
Contacts Access Level
None	The user will not be able to access the Contacts tab in System Manager.
View	The user will have permission to view the Contacts tab and the entries included within, but cannot modify the list.
Add	The user will be able to view contacts, as well as create new contacts
Edit	The user will be able to view and add contacts, as well as edit contacts created by other users
Delete	The user will be able to view, add, edit, and delete contacts
Copy Stations Access Level
None	The user will not be able to access the Copy Stations tab in System Manager.
View	The user will have permission to view the Copy Stations tab and the entries included within, but cannot modify the list.
Add	The user will be able to view copy stations, as well as create new copy stations
Edit	The user will be able to view and add copy stations, as well as edit contacts created by other users
Delete	The user will be able to view, add, edit, and delete copy stations
Environment Settings Access Level
None	The user will not be able to access the Environment Settings tab in System Manager.
View	The user will have permission to view the configurations on the Environment Settings tab, but cannot modify the settings.
Edit	The user will be able to view and modify the environment settings
Security Templates Access Level
None	The user will not be able to access the Security Templates tab in System Manager.
View	The user will have permission to view the Security Templates tab and the entries included within, but cannot modify the list.
Add	The user will be able to view security templates, as well as create new security templates.
Edit	The user will be able to view and add security templates, as well as edit security templates created by other users.
Delete	The user will be able to view, add, edit, and delete security templates.
Storage Locations Access Level
None	The user will not be able to access the Storage Locations tab in System Manager.
View	The user will have permission to view the Storage Locations tab and the entries included within, but cannot modify the list.
Add	The user will be able to view storage locations, as well as create new storage locations.
Edit	The user will be able to view and add storage locations, as well as edit storage locations created by other users.

System Logs Access Level
View	The user will have permission to view the System Logs tab and run log reports.
